My Story I am going to edit

What I think is Beautiful

  • Colombian Flag: I think the Colombian flag is beautiful because I am very patriotic and love my country.
  • Ana Sofia Henao x2: I think this woman is very beautiful and she is from Colombia
  • KTM: KTM is a motorcycle brand and I just think the design of the motorcycle is beautiful.
  • Colombian Landscape: I think that this is beautiful because it’s in my country and its full of colors.
  • Guatape Rock: This is a really big rock in Colombia it has a ladder on the side, I think this is beautiful because it is in Colombia and it is one of the biggest rocks in the world.
  • Parque Tayrona Beach: This is a Natural park in Colombia, located in the north of Colombia, its one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
  • Los Llanos Colombia: This is the planes in the east of Colombia, it has really beautiful animals, and beautiful landscape
  • Caño Cristales: This is a river in Los Llanos that is full of colors because it has weeds of different colors. I think that this is beautiful river because of the colors.
  • Honda motorcycle: I think this motorcycle is beautiful mostly because it has 2 exhausts, but also because of it’s design.

  1. Caño cristales is one of the worlds most beautiful rivers. It is a small river with a sand and stony ground. It is very famous for its multiple colors, a result of the water plants that grow on the rocks. It is located in the Macarena, small mountain that rises in one of Colombian plains.
  2. KTM is a motorcycle brand that makes off-road motorcycles. The KTM factory is located in Austria, where some of the best motocross riders come from. I think that these motorcycles are beautiful because of their design.
  3. Parque Tayrona is one of the most beautiful natural parks in Colombia. It is located in the North of Colombia next to the Gulf of Mexico. Lots of tourists go to Parque Tayrona because of it’s beauty and it’s uniqueness in the world.
  4. I think the Colombian flag is beautiful because it’s from my country. This flag is very symbolic to me because everytime I see it I remember the beauty of my country, and what good times I have had in it.
  5. I think that Los Llanos in Colombia is a really beautiful place mostly because I have been to most of it and know its beautiful places. I have a farm in Los Llanos and every time I go to it I feel relaxed and calm because of the nature. This is a very diverse place and I recommend it a lot to visit.

What is Beauty?

Beauty is something that bring joy and makes the person feel warm. When I see something beautiful most of the times I say “Wow!” or in a picture, “Would be cool to see that.”

Is what you think is beautiful the same as I think it’s beautiful?
I think that everybody has a different opinion and so you would like different things than me. Though sometimes we should lie the same things, like maybe a landscape or a woman.

Is beauty the same around the world?

Sometimes it is, but most of the times it isn’t. Some people may think a woman is beautiful but others not. But sometimes something is so beautiful that everybody thinks it’s beautiful. For Example: Some cultures around the world think that being fat is really beautiful, but most think opposite.

Literary Techniques

Definition: A literary technique or literary device is and identifiable rule, convention or structure that is employed in literature and storytelling.

Symbolism: Is to use a object or picture to represent an idea. It has to be something you cant touch.
EXAMPLE: In the movie “Pocahontas”, the wind is symbolic because it represents the spirit of Pocahontas and her mother’s disease. It is also a symbol of peace and coexistence.

Foreshadowing: Something is the future is predicted in the story. Has to have hints and can’t be too obvious.
EXAMPLE: In the movie “Cinderella”, the look of anger that the evil step mother gives to Cinderella, foreshadows that she is going to do something evil.

Flashback: Is when, in the middle of the plot, the plot pauses and goes to an earlier time. These give you more info about a character or story.
EXAMPLE: In the movie “The Lion King”, Simba has a flashback of when he was little and his father died.

Atmosphere: It’s how the setting makes you feel (Ex. If the character is sad it may rain). It does not refer to character, only to the setting.
EXAMPLE: In the movie “An Extremely Goofy Movie”, Goofy’s son leaves for college and leaves his childhood back in his house. Because his father is sad the house is really sad.

Plot Twist: Is when something unexpected happens, but there must had been clues.
EXAMPLE:In the movie “Bambi”, you see that a fawn is with his mother and then her mother saw some hunters, and they ran but suddenly they shot the mother.

Comments on Others People Work

Santiago Salem: I think Santiago's work was really good because he not only did what he had to do but he also did more. He put lots of examples of how the characters were and of their personalities. I could understand how the characters think after reading his project.

Santiago Cabrera: I liked Santiago's project because he made it clear what happened in the story and what the characters did. The conflict made it look like a scary book.

Tomas Cardenas: I liked a lot Tomas' project because it really shows the plot of the story. It shows how the characters are, what their personalities are, and the interaction between them.

Sebastian P2: I liked Sebastian's projects because it clearly states where the story takes place, what is the main conflict, and what is the solution to the problem

Book Summary Escape! The story of the great Houdini

Houdini was one of the world's best magicians. He created lots of new tricks and illusions.

Houdini was born on Hungary in late 1800's. He got the last name Houdini because there was a magician before him named Houdin. He put an I after that and in french it would mean "like Hounin".

His dad was well educated but had little money so Harry ran away from home so his parents didn't have to use money on him.

He lived winning money in little jobs until he decided to study magic. He became famous when he hung upside down from a building with a strength jacket  on. He got free and after that lots of people knew him. He then started to get free from handcuffs and locks and chains. He then became really famous.

After some time he lost popularity and had to create new tricks. After some time he even got to do some movies.

A connetion I had with this book were that i've seen movies where a little kid escapes home and works on little jobs so he can live on his own winning his own money.

Some great tricks he did where to disappear an elephant out of mid air, and to cross a solid brick wall.

A new title for the book would be The Greatest Magician ever.
